Cycle tour of the city

With heavy rain showers forecast for the afternoon I got out early on the road bike to clock up a few miles. A spin down in to town via the Comber greenway and Beersbridge road and Woodstock road then over the Albert Bridge and up the Lagan towpath to the Ormeau road and out along the Stranmillis embankment cycle path past Cutters Wharf to the Lockkeepers Inn at Shaw’s Bridge.

From there I ventured off the cycle paths on to the main roads to come down the Malone road and back in the Stranmillis road to pick up the Lagan towpath again and round by the Odyssey and out the lovely smooth tarmac of the airport road to Hollywood exchange and then back in again for a welcome break at the Titanic building.

After a breather in the sun it was back up the Comber greenway to Dundonald and back past Stormont to home for a feed and a shower. Total mileage was 29.4 and the first rain shower arrived half an hour after returning home.
