Up and out on the bicycle nice and early in the morning to take advantage of the early morning sun and nice dry tarmac. The frozen roofs and windows of my car suggested the need for some caution but apart from one front wheel slide at Comber roundabout in the frosty shade the roads were in great condition.
Knowing that a longer and lumpier group cycle is planned for tomorrow I used this ride to go at an easier pace and save the legs, watching the cycle computer to make sure the heart rate didn’t climb too high.
The tide was out along the shore of Strangford Lough as I cycled past Rolly island to the ancient Monastic site at Nendrum before turning back for home and a nice warm bowl of Tomato and Pepper Soup. A great twenty seven miles in almost perfect conditions.
