The Weather forecast showed Rain coming back in over the Weekend but gave another dry and Sunny day today (Friday) so I got kitted up and wheeled the bicycle out for another long cycle, this time a solo effort.

Starting on the Comber Greenway then the old Ballygowan road out of Comber up to Ballygowan before taking more country roads and ending up at the Quoile River on the outskirts of Downpatrick. From there I cycled up past Castleward and in to Strangford in beautiful sunshine. Taking on Water and a Chicken Sandwich in Strangford I journeyed on until Bishopscourt race circuit where I stopped for a chat with the circuit manager and done a lap of the circuit before venturing on my way again along some very narrow lanes until I came back out at the Quoile River.

Sticking to the main road and keeping the pace up, it wasn’t long until I was at Killyleagh and then on to the Ardview road to Killinchy, then along the familiar Whiterock to Ballydorn section and back in to Comber where I got back on to the Greenway to Dundonald and Belfast for a total distance of 82 miles.

The week started with 70 miles on Sunday, 80 miles around Lough Neagh mid-week and an 82 mile ride today, time for a lazy Weekend to rest and recover!
