Tour of Ulster, stage one

Tonight saw the opening stage of the 2015 Amber Green, Tour of Ulster cycle race, the start practically on my doorstep with a short, uphill, time trial in East Belfast up through Stormont Estate to Parliamaent Buildings.

The Cycle race competitors went off in pairs racing against the clock to see who could endure the most pain to reach the top quicker than anyone else. Having ridden this hill a few times myself I know how tough it is even at my slow pace, but these guys were flying up it pulling a much bigger gear than I could ever dream of enduring, pain and suffering etched across their faces with a few even screaming out at the effort being put in. Weather conditions were perfect and I brought the trusty Nikon along to capture a few images of the evenings action.
