The Ton. A Century. Yin Hundred.
Treating myself to some time off work now that the warmer, sunnier weather has finally arrived I set off on the Bicycle in the direction of Newcastle, County Down for an Ice Cream.
Leaving Belfast I ventured uphill to Moneyreagh through Saintfield and in to Ballynahinch. I had then planned to go up the Spa road but it was closed for resurfacing so it was back up on to the main road but self preservation kicked in and I took to the back roads again near Drumaness to swing around to Seaforde and Clough through Maghera to Bryansford and then the drop down in to Newcastle for a well earned ice cream in beautiful warm sunshine.
Leaving Newcastle and heading for Dundrum it dawned on me that I would have a headwind the whole way home, lovely, not! Through Dundrum and across country to Ballydugan where I snapped a few Photographs with the little Fuji Camera in my Jersey pocket of the old mill and some self catering Cottages. I started cycling again and took the main road all the way to Killyleagh where I stopped for another photograph or two before turning inland and through Shrigley and Toye before then turning back towards the coast along the Ringdufferin road to Whiterock and stopping at Daft Eddies in Ballydorn for a cuppa, a snack and to soak up some warm sunshine.
From Ballydorn I pedalled around the coast to Nendrum then back in to Comber and up the Greenway where I and many other cyclists all picked up punctures from Drawing Pins that had been thrown around the path in what was deliberate act of sabotage coming on the back of a recent more sinister razor blade attack on the Greenway.
With 80 odd miles done I replaced my punctured tube and stayed out on the bike to clock up my first century to complete a great day.
Below is a selection of Photograph taken with my Phone and or the little Fuji.
