Castlereagh Cycling Club also meet up mid-week during the “Summer” Months for a regular Wednesday Evening group ride. There was a poor turnout this Week, just myself and two other club members but it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable mid-week rides with none of us having a route in mind and just making it up on the fly as we cycled the back roads.
The threat of Rain was ever present but luckily we only caught a brief spell of drizzle in the two hours we were out on the Bicycles. We set off from the usual meeting point at Forster Green Hospital, went up the Saintfield road and turned right in to Mill road then a few more back roads before emerging on to the Comber road out of Carryduff. From there it was along the Saintfield road through the Temple crossroads to Saintfield then along Station road and Killyleagh road through Daragh Cross and back to Ballygowan and taking the main road back to the Knock Carriageway in to a nasty headwind.
Two hours on the Bicycle and thirty four miles clocked up at a brisk pace.
