With the Weather forecast for early sunshine clouding over with rain coming in in the afternoon I made the effort to get out early on the Bicycle and get a few miles in.
A steady pedal along the Comber Greenway to warm the legs up and I was soon in Comber swinging left in to the Ballydrain road hugging the Strangford Lough coastline passing Castle Espie keeping up a brisk pace all the way to Sketrick island. From there it was round to Lisbane then up the ‘Lung Buster’ hills in to Killinchy and on to Balloo. From Balloo down the main road to Lisbane and then swinging left in to the country roads again and emerging at Ballygowan.
From Ballygowan I took to some new roads (to me) with a lot of rolling hills to test the legs and soon I was on the Ballygowan road with just one final tough climb up the Upper Braniel road before the fast descent down past Castlereagh Golf Course and down in to Gilnahirk and home. A good thirty four miles in a little over two hours.
