Castlereagh Club run

Another Weekend and another Castelreagh Cycling Club ride, with a Southerly Wind blowing we set off in a Southerly direction up the Saintfield road to Carryduff, left to Saintfield, Left again down Station road then right to navigate some minor roads before emerging again on the main Saintfield to Crossgar road.

Another left off the main road towards Derryboye followed by more twists and turns and we emerged near the Quoile River Bridge where we swung a left in the direction of Strangford where a stop for some Poached Eggs on Toast had the legs refuelled and ready for more miles.

We collectively agreed to not take the Ferry over to Portaferry and instead hug the Shore road to Ardglass where we had to dig a bit deeper due to the gusting Wind. At Ardglass we turned right for a short run to Downpatrick stopping at a Petrol station to top up the Water Bottles then on our way again taking the main road to Crossgar, looking over my shoulder I could see no one behind me so I pulled over to let the others catchup and then on to Saintfield and back down the Saintfield road to Belfast for another great Autumnal day in the Saddle with 70 miles done and a great average of 17mph.
