With a lot of my regular Phoenix Cycling Club members off to Westport for a Weekend of Cycling and Craic I decided against Cycling over to the House of Sport to meet up with the rest of the Phoenix crew and instead I opted for an early solo Cycle and a relatively short one too and only thirty miles.
With only myself to please there was no pressure to keep up with the group so I popped my little Sony Camera in to a Jersey pocket as the Morning Light was looking promising. I set off on the leg tightening Gilnahirk climb before the leg muscles had even warmed up then across the Country lanes to Moneyreagh followed by a loop around more lanes to emerge just outside Ballygowan. Taking the main road in to Ballygowan and then a left in to Moss road all the way to Balloo and up in to Killinchy before dropping down to Sea level on the Strangford Lough Coastline at Whiterock where I dismounted for a few Photographs then the short spin round to Sketrick Island for a few more Photographs and a hot mug of Tea and a Caramel Square at Daft Eddie’s.
Leaving Sketrick Island I took the Ballydrain road to Comber and then used the Comber Greenway to take a handy spin back to Dundonald.
