Equipment

The vast majority of my photographic equipment is manufactured by Nikon. It is my belief that Nikon camera bodies are the most ergonomic cameras available with all the buttons located exactly where needed and, as a result, are fast and intuitive to use. The Camera bodies that I use are the Nikon D300 and Nikon D200.

At time of writing the lenses in my camera bag are as follows:

  • Nikon 20mm f2.8
  • Nikon 50mm f1.8
  • Nikon 85mm f1.8
  • Nikon 17-55mm f2.8
  • Nikon 300mm f2.8 IF-ED AFS-VR
  • Nikon 300mm f4
  • Nikon 28-105mm f3.5-4.5
  • Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VR
  • Nikon TC-17 Tele-Convertor
  • I also use Nikon SB800 / SB900 speedlights and a Nikon SU800 wireless flash controller.

In 2006 I junked my Windows PC in favour of an Apple MacBook laptop running Mac OSX Leopard and I have to say it was a great decision, Mac OSX is a brilliant operating system and has none of the security issues that plague the Windows range of operating systems.

To edit, organise, rate, caption and keyword my large photo collection I now almost exclusively use Apple’s Aperture software package. Aperture has been designed to specifically meet the needs of working professional photographers, and I can highly recommend it to anyone.
